PARKS AND RESERVES: THE OIPR OBTAINS 1.
On February 25, 2020 in Abidjan, the Foundation for Parks and Reserves of Côte d'Ivoire (FPRCI) allocated, on Friday, February 21 in Abidjan, a grant worth more than 1.2 billion FCFA to the Ivorian Office of Parks and Reserves (OIPR), for the redevelopment and conservation of four reserves and national parks.
The four protected areas benefiting from this budget support are, among others, the national parks and reserves of Taï (in the extreme west of the country), Comoé (north-east), Azagny (south) and Mont Sangbé (south) and Mont Sangbé (west). The areas to be developed represent 86.52% of the total area of the network of national parks and reserves in Côte d'Ivoire.
For the president of the FPRCI board of directors, Bernard N'Doumi, this endowment will contribute to the promotion and preservation of the natural heritage of the national parks and reserves concerned. This grant brings to 5.89 billion FCFA, the amount granted to the OIPR by the FPRCI, since 2014.
