CDN in Côte d'Ivoire: experts and consultants to consolidate sectoral relationships
After the pre-validation stage, sector by sector, of stakeholder reports and their presentation to the Office of the Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development (MINEDD), the team for the Coordination of the NDC review process set up by the Ministry, brought together at a workshop all the sectoral experts involved for the definitive consolidation of all these documents aimed at raising the climate ambitions of Côte d'Ivoire.
This workshop, which is being held from 24 to 26 March 2021, in the seaside town of Grand-Bassam, aims to consolidate and validate these reports and to encourage national ownership of the expected results. It covers the Mitigation component reports (Energy, Agriculture, Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use (AFAT), Waste) and the Adaptation component report. It should be noted that as part of the revision of Côte d'Ivoire's NDCs, several international and national experts have been recruited to conduct technical studies, accompanied by proposals for measures to mitigate and adapt to the effects of climate change. The aim is to reduce Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions and to improve the resilience of populations in the face of the harmful effects of climate change.
