This study, whose objective is to produce updated data on the dynamics of mangrove ecosystems to contribute to their better management, was based on spot images 5 and 6. A capitalization of field data made it possible to analyze the dynamics and diversity of mangroves, as well as the drivers of this change. It appears from this study that the park is potentially threatened given the gradual disappearance of mangroves in its peripheral zone. This decrease is estimated at around 51 ha from 2009 to 2016 in the peripheral zone of the park. However, there has been an increase of more than 31 ha within the boundaries of the protected area. The flora of the study area is rich in 208 species, with only one species of mangrove: Rhizophora racemosa.
Man remains the main actor in this destruction of mangroves through the practice of activities such as hand fishing and fish smoking. Thus, the park remains potentially under the threat of human aggression when the mangrove has completely disappeared from the peripheral zone.
