Comoé National Park, Bouna (Ivory Coast)

Fleuve traversant le parc National de la comoé.jpg

The Comoé National Park, located in the north-east of Côte d'Ivoire with an area of 1,149,450 ha, is one of the largest protected areas in West Africa. It is distinguished by the great diversity of its vegetation. The Comoé River, which crosses the park, partly explains the presence of plant groups usually found in the south, such as shrubby savannas and islands of dense humid forest. The property is thus an exceptional example of a transitional habitat between forest and savannah. The variety of habitats results in a great diversity of animal species.
