The concept of sustainable development materializes the need for policies, researchers and practitioners to meet the current social, economic and environmental challenges facing humanity, while maintaining the future of future generations. Economic development is therefore sustainable if it is economically efficient, socially equitable and ecologically sustainable. A report on Sustainable Development based on the case of Côte d'Ivoire, is a contribution that is in line with the vision and missions of the Swiss Center for Scientific Research in Côte d'Ivoire (CSRS), to be a reference institution for research and research training, an effective platform for regional and international partnerships that generate evidence for science and sustainable development.

To this end, it is important to look at the trends of the progress made at regular intervals in order to identify not only the points of satisfaction to be supported but even more importantly the areas or actions to be strengthened in order to meet the requirements of sustainable development. Every 2 years, this report aims to provide Côte d'Ivoire with an overview of sustainable development.
