The Swiss Center for Scientific Research contributes to the conservation and sustainable management of natural resources

During a panel organized on the sidelines of the 15th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (COP15), Professor Inza Koné reviewed the achievements and expertise of her center in research and action research in partnership in the fields of conservation, food security and health in connection with climate change, reports an information note sent to the AIP.

“In terms of conservation, the recent establishment of the Tanoé-Ehy Marsh Forest (approximately 11,000 ha) as a voluntary nature reserve illustrates the success of empowering rural communities. In the field of health, empowering communities and developing synergies with health structures have been assets in improving public health in several regions of Côte d'Ivoire,” emphasized Professor Inza Koné.

He said that in the field of food security, multi-actor innovation platforms have made it possible to promote paradigm changes, in peasant environments, at all stages of value chains in several sectors for sustainability.
