Le Centre de services scientifiques ouest-africains sur le changement climatique et l'utilisation adaptée des terres (WASCAL), parrainé par le ministère fédéral allemand de l'Éducation et de la Recherche, est un programme de recherche à grande échelle conçu pour aider à développer une adaptation et une atténuation efficaces du changement climatique et de la variabilité accrue. L'objectif du programme est de renforcer la capacité de recherche liée au changement climatique en Afrique de l'Ouest en promouvant la collaboration entre les universités de la région, y compris l'UFHB, ainsi que les universités allemandes.
