Women are key players in the agricultural sector in most developing countries. However, their roles in the various agricultural production systems are often poorly understood. This study, carried out in central Côte d'Ivoire, aimed to highlight the main activities carried out by women in the management of cocoa-based agroforestry systems. To do this, interviews were carried out with 268 women involved in the management of cocoa agroforestry systems in six locations. Among them, most (69.02%) are wives of producers. The results show that these women are mainly involved in maintaining the plantation (91.4%) during the first year. They are active in creating nurseries (28%), during planting (37.7%), in harvesting pods (48.9%) and in maintaining beans (36.4%). More extensive work with actors (men and women) in all producing areas will make it possible to better understand the organization of work in cocoa agroforests in order to provide more information on the place occupied by women in cocoa farming.
