Swamp forests occupy the hydromorphic soils of depressions near the coast and the lagoon network. The characteristic groups of swamp forests are the Raphia hookeri Mann & Wendl groupings. (Arecaceae), to Hallea ledermannii (M. Krause) Verdc. (Rubiaceae), to Symphonia globulifera L.f. (Clusiaceae). The largest areas of swamp forest are found in Raphia hookeri east of Ehy lagoon and north of Aghien and Aby lagoons.
