2021-2022 INTERMEDIATE COCOA SEASON: THE ON-BOARD FIELD PRICE FIXED AT 825 CFA FRANCS PER KILOGRAM, AGAINST 750 CFA FRANCS FOR THE PREVIOUS CAMPAIGN

On March 31, 2022 in Abidjan, the Minister of State, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Kobenan Kouassi Adjoumani, announced the field price per kilogram of cocoa at 825 FCFA, for the 2021-2022 intermediate season, against 750 FCFA for the previous season. That is an increase of 10%.

The Minister of State made this announcement on Thursday, March 31, 2022 in Abidjan-Plateau, during a press conference, in the presence of the chairman of the board of directors of the Café-Cacao Council (CCC), Siaka Minayaha Coulibaly and the director general of the said Council, Yves Brahima Koné.

According to the Minister of State, the price per kilogram of cocoa in the intermediate season compared to the main season has always been below the price for the main season. “For once, the President of the Republic decided to renew the same price”, he declared to the delight of producers.

And to specify that this considerable effort is estimated at 60 billion FCFA, considering the 12 billion FCFA already made available to producers by the government.

Kobenan Kouassi Adjoumani said that the President of the Republic, concerned about the well-being of coffee-cocoa producers, granted 68% of the Caf price to producers instead of 60%.

The president of the National Agricultural Union for Progress in Côte d'Ivoire (SYNAPCI), Koné Moussa, expressed, on behalf of all producers, his thanks to the President of the Republic, the Minister of State and the Café-Cocoa Council.
