ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION: the National Environment Agency (ANDE) has 44 new Auditors
44 agents of the National Environment Agency (ANDE) were sworn in on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at the Court of First Instance, located in Plateau. Through this act, these agents undertake to ensure that environmental considerations are taken into account in Policies, Plans, Programmes (PPP) and development projects throughout the national territory.
The strengthening of its control system aims to make ANDE a key and effective player in the protection of the environment. Indeed, the agency has carried out various awareness-raising and compliance verification actions in the various industrial areas. The results of these actions revealed that several companies are not in compliance with the provisions of the Environmental Code Act. Taking advantage of the insufficient number of Auditors or Controllers within ANDE, these companies are reluctant to carry out their Environmental Audit Management Plan (PGE-A) or their Environmental Audit in order to comply with the regulations in force.
This situation, which persists despite the various interpellations, finds its solution in the strengthening of teams, hence the meaning of this important ceremony of swearing in of Environmental Auditors.
