TAÏ NATIONAL PARK: THE LOCAL MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE HOLDS ITS FIRST SESSION IN THE N'ZO WILDLIFE RESERVE.

The N'zo Partial Wildlife Reserve was the framework chosen by the Local Management Committee of the Taï National Park (CGL-PNT) to host its first statutory session for the year 2022, on Friday 13 May.

During this session, the South-West Zone Directorate of the OIPR, after the report of the previous session held on December 21, 2021, made two presentations; in particular: the assessment of the first quarter of the 2022 operational plan and the assessment of the implementation of the Convention for the Sustainable Management of Natural Resources of Lake Buyo.

As part of the balance sheet, the committee recorded with satisfaction the performance of 60% obtained by the DZSO with a completion rate of 15% out of 25% expected.

With respect to the Lake Buyo Convention, members of the Committee noted the progress made in the sustainable management of this sensitive ecosystem. The Shoreline Measures Officer, who made this presentation, emphasized the efforts made by the OIPR and its partners, in particular GiZ, to structure fishing communities “today fishermen and fish traders are grouped into associations and have benefited from several capacity building sessions and projects to improve their working and living conditions”, he said.
