Since 2016, a Consortium, composed of the main herbarium owners in Côte d'Ivoire, the National Floristic Center of the University Félix Houphouët-Boigny, the Swiss Center for Scientific Research, the AKE-ASSI Botanical Institute in Andokoi and the University Jean Lorougnon GUEDE, have been working to modernize and strengthen the capacities of herbariums in Côte d'Ivoire.
As part of the project activities, the Consortium invited stakeholders (political decision-makers, ministries, media, Focal Points of international Conventions in charge of biodiversity, researchers and the public) to a workshop to report on project activities. This workshop is intended to present the summary of the results obtained on “Modernization and capacity building in the herbariums of Côte d'Ivoire”. The objective is to write a perspective note (a Policy Brief) for decision-makers to develop ideas and help decision-making on the conservation of Biodiversity in Côte d'Ivoire.
This workshop was held on Tuesday, February 02, 2021 at the Conference Room of the National Floristic Center, Félix Houphouët-Boigny University, Cocody-Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
