An ethnobotanical study was carried out in the Hambol region in the north of Côte d'Ivoire. It aimed to highlight the use of Loranthaceae in the traditional health care system of the populations of the region. Loranthaceae, parasitic plants, are used to treat certain diseases. The study method used is based on interviews and semi-structured individual surveys conducted with local populations. The surveys identified 2 species of Loranthaceae used in association with 15 host species to treat various pathologies. Leaves (47 p.c.), twigs (28 p.c.), bark (16 p.c.), and roots (9 p.c.) are the main parts used to prepare recipes. The remedies are prepared in the form of a decoction, maceration and trituration. The products obtained are administered orally via drinking, enemas and external applications.
