SALT PRODUCTION BY THE POPULATIONS OF THE SUB-PREFECTURE OF JACQUEVILLE

From September 2016 to January 2017, the NGO SOS-Forêts executed a project whose objective is to prevent the cutting and use of mangrove wood as firewood by women through a new technique for producing salt from solar energy. This project was carried out in the villages Adjacoutié, Ahua, and Grand-Jacques (sub-prefecture of Jacqueville). This project received funding from the Canadian Embassy. A total of 80 women salt producers benefited from the project and 160 salt production units were offered to them.
