SUPPORT FOR THE PREPARATION OF MULTI-SECTORAL INVESTMENT PLANS IDA-17 AND THE INVESTMENT PLAN FOR THE CITY OF GRAND-LAHOU, REPUBLIC OF CÔTE D'IVOIRE

The target area of the WACA Grand-Lahou project is the Bandama estuary, in Ivory Coast, West Africa. It is located on the center of the southern coast of the country, on the edge of the Gulf of Guinea, at the mouth of the Bandama River. It is home to the Azagny National Park, an exceptional biodiversity site classified as a RAMSAR. The main city is the Commune of Grand Lahou, its natural environment is rich, it consists of a strip of Atlantic coastline, lagoons that cross it from East to West, dense forests and mangroves sheltering various animal and plant species. This project made it possible to characterize the environmental and socio-economic risk profile of the Bandama estuary in Grand Lahou. A diagnosis of the national political framework and regional initiatives was carried out. In addition to these elements, there is a geographic information system mapping the main issues.
