The role played by forests in the history of mankind through the maintenance of biodiversity and climate is very important. Existing data underline that these are home to just over 80% of the Earth's biodiversity. They are therefore indispensable resources for a large number of the world's populations. However, the exploitation of this natural capital has led to its deterioration for several decades.

Ivory Coast, which had a forest cover rate of 16 million hectares at the beginning of the century, is now at least 3 million hectares in the 21st century (EU, 2006). In other words, the country is no exception to this phenomenon of deforestation of its heritage. To mitigate this forest regression and save the last relics, the Ivorian State has reserved certain natural areas through classified forests. Which are considered to be “granaries” because of their ecological potential, which is considered very important?
